Valley Springs is bringing a vibrant calendar of community events to The Terrace Plaza in 2026, giving locals and visitors plenty to celebrate all year.

Each first Friday from April through October, classic cars and vintage tunes take center stage at Cruizer's Car Show, where families can enjoy nostalgic displays, lively music from the 50’s to the 70’s, and tasty food from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The fun continues every first Saturday with the Flea Market, happening from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, inviting everyone to browse quirky finds, take part in community activities, and connect with neighbors.

A special highlight awaits in December: The Terrace Plaza’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony brightens the season on the first Saturday, offering festive entertainment, hot chocolate, and a welcoming, joyful holiday spirit.

Valley Springs Advances Active Transportation and Trails Plan

Calaveras County is moving forward with a new plan to expand active transportation and recreation in Valley Springs and Murphys, aiming to secure funding from the state’s Active Transportation Program.

Board support is intended to improve competitiveness for a share of the $100 million available annually through the program, which actively promotes walking, biking, and healthier lifestyles while cutting emissions.

Micah Martin, public works director, updated supervisors on the plan’s outreach and community-centered priorities, emphasizing local voices.

Two priority projects were chosen: a shared-use path along Murphys Main Street from Feeney Park to Apple Blossom Drive, and another along Valley Springs Main Street from Hogan Dam Road to Vista Del Lago Drive.

Supervisors highlighted the benefits for safety, visitor appeal, and community growth, while also stressing the need to address other towns like Mokelumne Hill and Arnold in future planning.

Recent real estate activity—including a new commercial listing—mirrors the area’s development momentum.
